Pomona Unified School District needs a FRESH New start and a New Direction. According to the California Department of Education, last year over 500 students dropped out of high school. This is unacceptable! As a college student, community volunteer, and appointee to a Pomona City Commission, I have experienced the everyday challenges that face our students. As your representative, I will work to:
.-Fight against future budget cuts, increase teachers, and protect important after school programs.
.-Ensure that all students have access to a quality education by reducing the bureaucracy and engaging parents to be part of the solution. Less bureaucracy equals more classroom resources.
.-Ensure that all students are prepared to make tough career choices; when choosing to attend a Four-Year University, Community College, Apprenticeship Work Program, or joining the military.
.-Organize a partnership between parents, teachers, students, and elected officials. Parents and students need a strong voice.
